Who can join
Graduates (or final-year students) of the Department of Genetic Engineering and Biotechnology at Shahjalal University of Science and Technology (SUST), at any degree level (BSc, MSc, MPhil, or PhD). Non-alumni can support GEBAA as a donor instead of registering for membership.
How we verify you
We ask for your GEB, Shahjalal University of Science and Technology (SUST) session, batch number, and registration number during registration — not your national ID. This is enough to confirm you’re a genuine GEB graduate.

Who is eligible to join as an alumnus/alumna?
Any graduate of the Department of Genetic Engineering and Biotechnology (GEB) at Shahjalal University of Science and Technology (SUST) — including those who completed a BSc, MSc, MPhil, or PhD at the department — is eligible. If you're still completing your degree, you can register once you've been formally admitted to your final year; full alumni status is confirmed after graduation.
I only did an MS or PhD at GEB, Shahjalal University of Science and Technology (SUST) (not my undergraduate degree). Can I still join?
Yes. Any degree earned at GEB, Shahjalal University of Science and Technology (SUST) establishes eligibility — you don't need to have done your undergraduate degree here.
How are membership fees used?
Membership dues fund GEBAA's core activities: alumni events and reunions, the job board and mentorship initiatives, platform hosting and maintenance, and administrative costs of running the association.
Do I need to provide my NID or passport number?
No — it's optional. We verify alumni status using your GEB, Shahjalal University of Science and Technology (SUST) batch, session, and registration number instead. You can add an NID/Passport number later from your account page if you'd like, but it isn't required.
Will my profile be visible to the public?
Your public member profile can show your name, batch, education, and any publications/experience you choose to add. Sensitive details — phone number, full address, and NID/Passport — are never shown publicly and are visible only to you and GEB Alumni Association administrators.
How long does it take for my membership to become active?
Membership activates automatically as soon as your payment is confirmed through SSLCommerz — there's no separate waiting period.
What's the difference between General, Life, and Donor membership?
General membership is paid for a chosen number of years (1–5) and renews on that schedule. Life membership is a single one-time payment that never expires. Donor membership is for alumni who want to contribute at a higher level to directly support GEBAA's programs.
I'm not a GEB graduate of Shahjalal University of Science and Technology (SUST) — can I still support GEBAA?
Yes. You can contribute as a Non-Alumni Supporter (a one-time donation, no membership account) from the Register or Donate pages, or reach out directly at info@gebaa-sust.org.
