Overview
Lets PhD students from overseas universities spend 1–2 years doing part of their doctoral research in an A*STAR research institute in Singapore. Nominations are made by A*STAR host researchers by 15 May or 30 November; the next round closes 30 November 2026, so interested students should contact potential hosts now.
Eligibility
International PhD students at overseas universities with at least a Second Class (Upper) bachelor's or equivalent, whose supervisor has an established collaboration with an A*STAR researcher; A*STAR researchers submit the nomination.
Nationality: Open to all nationalities (PhD students at overseas universities)
Funding & Benefits
SGD 3,200/month stipend, one-time SGD 1,500 airfare grant and SGD 1,000 settling-in allowance, plus housing assistance, medical coverage, conference funding and IT allowance.
