Overview
Up to 10 competitive fellowships per year at the Biozentrum Basel, with lab rotations in at least two groups before choosing a PhD advisor. The Winter Call 2026/27 closes 18 October 2026; shortlisted candidates interview in January 2027 and start between March and September 2027.
Eligibility
MSc or equivalent qualifying for a PhD at the University of Basel (outstanding Bachelor's holders from outside the Bologna system may apply); must not already be enrolled or contracted as a PhD student in Basel; CV, transcripts and two academic referees.
Nationality: Open to all nationalities
Funding & Benefits
Full funding for the entire PhD, a personal annual allowance, travel support, and support for travel to postdoctoral interviews; interview travel and accommodation covered.
