EPFL's neuroscience doctoral programme, recruiting twice a year from diverse academic backgrounds, with a three-step selection including Zoom thesis presentations and in-person Hiring Days. The autumn deadline is 1 November 2026, with Hiring Days in January 2027.

Eligibility

Master's degree or equivalent before starting the doctorate; applicants from non-neuroscience backgrounds may need bridging courses; TOEFL/GRE not required.

Funding & Benefits

PhD students at EPFL have dual status as doctoral students and EPFL employees (salaried doctoral assistants); the programme page does not state the salary. Travel and accommodation for the Hiring Days interviews are covered. Interview travel covered up to CHF 1,000 plus four nights' accommodation.
