Overview
ESPRIT lets early-career postdocs run their own three-year research project at an Austrian university or research institute, in any discipline including the life sciences. Applications are accepted continuously through FWF's elane portal and decided at five board meetings a year.
Eligibility
Doctorate awarded no more than 5 years before application; mentor and project at an Austrian research institution; applicants may be abroad when applying; no nationality restriction.

Funding & Benefits
Principal investigator's salary at the FWF senior postdoc rate for 36 months plus EUR 45,000 flat-rate project costs (up to EUR 75,000 if justified).
