Overview

ICGEB's annual research grant scheme funds projects in basic science, human health, industrial and agricultural biotechnology and bioenergy that are relevant to the host country. ICGEB states the next call will open at the beginning of 2027 with a submission deadline of 30 April 2027. Returning early-career scientists can apply under a dedicated return-grant category.

Eligibility

Scientists holding positions at universities or research institutes in ICGEB Member States (Bangladesh is a member state); projects must include integrated international collaboration; Early Career Return Grant applicants must be 40 or younger with 2+ years abroad and returned within the last 2 years.

Nationality: Researchers based in ICGEB Member States incl. Bangladesh

Funding & Benefits

Up to EUR 25,000 per year for up to 36 months for consumables, equipment, literature, travel and training (no PI salary or overheads). Early Career Return Grants available for returnees aged 40 or under.
