Overview

Interdisciplinary PhD programme at ISTA near Vienna with lab rotations across life sciences, neuroscience, chemistry, physics, maths and computer science, open to BSc and MSc graduates. Applications open in late October 2026 and close 8 January 2027 at 15:00 CET (referee letters by 12 January); the programme starts on 15 September 2027.

Eligibility

Bachelor's or Master's degree holders in biology, chemistry, neuroscience, mathematics, computer science, physics, data science or related fields.

Funding & Benefits

PhD students are employed with full social security; 2026 gross salary EUR 3,053-3,673/month (depending on BSc or MSc at entry), paid 14 times a year, with a raise after the qualifying exam; no tuition or application fee; conference funding.
