Small grants that help early-career cell biologists attend microscopy or image-analysis training courses anywhere. The next deadline is 16 October 2026, covering courses that start after 30 November 2026. Awardees write a short course report for the FocalPlane community site.

Eligibility

Early-career researchers working in an area covered by Journal of Cell Science; must not have received other Company of Biologists funding in the past 12 months; supervisor letter confirming no other funds available.

Nationality: Open to all nationalities

Funding & Benefits

Up to GBP 1,000 towards course fees, accommodation, travel, subsistence and visa fees for a microscopy or bioimage analysis training course.
