The John Kendrew Young Scientist Award recognises excellence in science or science communication among early-career former EMBL researchers. Self-applications close 30 September 2026; nominations close 31 August 2026.
Eligibility
Former EMBL International PhD Programme members or EMBL postdoctoral fellows who left EMBL between 2019 and 2024, are registered members of the EMBL Alumni Association, and meet the stated eligibility criteria.

Funding & Benefits
EUR 15,000 cash prize plus logistical costs for the winner to present at EMBL Heidelberg.
