Overview
NUS Biological Sciences admits PhD students twice a year, and international applicants are considered for the NUS Research Scholarship through the same application. The deadline for the August 2027 intake is 15 November 2026 (the January 2028 intake closes 15 May 2027).
Eligibility
BSc (4-year) or 3-year degree plus master's; at least Second Class Upper Honours for scholarship consideration; TOEFL iBT 95+ or IELTS 7.0+ if not a native English speaker; international scholars join the Graduate Assistantship Programme. S$50 application fee.

Funding & Benefits
NUS Research Scholarship: full tuition fee waiver and monthly stipend (from January 2026) of S$3,000 for international PhD students, plus S$500/month after the Qualifying Exam; typically 4 years.
