Overview

Four-year PhD at Uppsala's Department of Ecology and Genetics analysing phenotypic, RNA-seq and pool-seq data from an evolve-and-resequence experiment in seed beetles to study the repeatability of genetic adaptation. Apply by 1 November 2026; start 1 January 2027 or by agreement.

Eligibility

Master's degree in evolutionary biology, ecology, bioinformatics or related field; knowledge of ecology/genetics, programming experience and strong English; quantitative genetics and bioinformatic pipeline skills desirable.

Full-time (100%) salaried doctoral studentship (fixed-term employment) with monthly salary on the university's doctoral salary scale; amount not stated in the ad. 4 years; teaching (up to 20%) can extend the period.
