Overview
English-taught Master's and integrated doctoral programme in the School of Life Science and Technology at Institute of Science Tokyo (formerly Tokyo Tech), focused on a sustainable bio-economy, with outstanding applicants recommended for MEXT scholarships. Applications for fall 2027 enrollment run 9 September to 22 November 2026, with results on 3 March 2027.
Eligibility
For MEXT recommendation: aged 34 or under as of 1 April of the first scholarship year; citizen of a country with diplomatic relations with Japan; GPA 2.30/3.00 or higher; English CEFR B2 or equivalent (IELTS/TOEFL iBT/TOEIC) within two years of enrollment.
Nationality: Countries with diplomatic relations with Japan, incl. Bangladesh
Funding & Benefits
Applicants with strong academic records may be recommended for the MEXT scholarship (university recommendation): JPY 147,000/month (Master's) or JPY 148,000/month (Doctoral), with tuition and enrollment fees waived by Science Tokyo and airfare covered by MEXT under conditions. Not all IGP(A) programmes are MEXT-eligible.
