Overview
SINGA is a bond-free PhD award for international students to do research in science and engineering, including biomedical sciences, at A*STAR institutes and Singapore universities. There are two intakes a year; applications for the August 2027 intake run from 2 June to 1 December 2026, with shortlisting results about 12 weeks after the deadline.
Eligibility
International graduates with excellent bachelor's and/or master's results and a strong interest in research; PhD at NUS/NTU/SMU/SUTD (EngD at SIT) with research attachment at A*STAR research institutes or university labs.
Nationality: International students (non-Singaporeans); open to Bangladeshi nationals
Funding & Benefits
Full tuition fees for up to 4 years; monthly stipend of S$2,700 (S$32,400/year) rising to S$3,200 (S$38,400/year) after the Qualifying Exam; one-time S$1,000 settling-in allowance and S$1,500 airfare grant. Bond-free, no application fee.
