Overview

The Tetrad programme is UCSF's integrated PhD in biochemistry & molecular biology, cell biology, developmental biology and genetics. Admitted students are fully funded. Applications for fall 2027 open 1 September 2026 and close 1 December 2026.

Eligibility

Bachelor's degree; international applicants from non-English speaking countries must show English proficiency via TOEFL/IELTS or one year of US college study with GPA 3.0+.

Funding & Benefits

All admitted students receive an annual stipend plus tuition and fees (including health insurance premium) paid for the duration of the programme; first two years guaranteed by the programme, thereafter by the advisor.
