Overview
Sydney's merit-based research scholarships fund international PhD and research master's students across all faculties, including medicine, science and health. For students starting in 2027, the Rounds 3-4 deadline is 18 December 2026, with outcomes between May and June 2027.
Eligibility
International applicants commencing or enrolled in a higher degree by research (PhD preferred) at Sydney; must apply for HDR admission via Sydney Courses and submit the RTP scholarship form by the round deadline; preference for those without a previous Australian Government award at the same level.

Funding & Benefits
Stipend of A$44,293 per year (2027 rate) plus relocation and thesis allowances; international recipients also receive an RTP Fee Offset or University of Sydney Tuition Fee Scholarship covering 100% of tuition for up to 14 research periods, plus overseas student health cover.
