Overview
UQ's central research scholarship round funds international PhD and MPhil candidates across all fields, including biosciences, medicine and agriculture. This international round is for commencement in Research Quarter 4 2027 or early 2028; EOIs opened 20 August 2026 and applications close 19 October 2026, with outcomes from 22 February 2027.
Eligibility
International applicants nominated by an enrolling UQ school or institute and meeting HDR admission conditions (PhD, MPhil or research professional doctorate). Apply by submitting an Expression of Interest for a programme; no separate scholarship application.
Nationality: International students; open to all nationalities
Funding & Benefits
Tax-free living stipend of A$39,220 per year (2026 rate, indexed annually) plus single Overseas Student Health Cover for 3.5 years with possible extension; tuition covered for RTP/UQ scholarship holders.
