Overview

DBBS is WashU's umbrella for over a dozen biology and biomedical PhD programmes with 700+ faculty mentors. All accepted students receive full tuition and a yearly stipend. Applications for fall 2027 are accepted from 1 September to 15 November 2026 (11:59 pm EST); there is no rolling admission.

Eligibility

Bachelor's degree; GRE neither required nor accepted; USD 45 application fee (waivers available). Applicants from the US and around the world are admitted.

Funding & Benefits

2026-27 stipend USD 41,000/year plus full tuition (USD 69,190), health fee, network fee and disability insurance covered; support guaranteed for the duration of study with satisfactory progress.
