Whitley Awards 2027

Overview

Prestigious award and grant for grassroots conservation leaders in the Global South, often called the 'Green Oscars'. Applications for the 2027 round are open and close on 30 October 2026 at 23:59 GMT.

Eligibility

Mid-career conservation leaders who are nationals of the country where they work, leading science-based, locally embedded conservation projects with grassroots community involvement; no nomination required.

Nationality: Open globally (applicants must be nationals of the country where they work)

Funding & Benefits

GBP 50,000 in project funding over one year per Whitley Award.
